At the end of the eighties Fabio Perini was looking for a way to consolidate the infrastructure of his naval production division. He began looking beyond the borders of Italy and soon it became clear that Turkey, with its vast production areas and highly skilled work force all on the shores of the Mediterranean, was the ideal location.

Soon Perini Istanbul Gemicilik A.S. was created and found its base in Yildiz Gemi ve Makine San. Tic. A.S.

Yildiz Gemi began its activity in 1975 in the Tuzla area of Istanbul where there is a high concentration of shipyards. Following investments on the part of Perini Navi Group, Yildiz transformed its 40.000 sq mt waterfront area into one of the most well equipped and qualified shipyards in the whole of the Mediterranean basin.

Yildiz has 5.450 sq mt of hangars for the construction of Perini Navi and Picchiotti hulls and yachts, 1.600 sq mt of specialized workshops, 1.944 sq mt of sheds dedicated to aluminium working, a 100 mt long boat ramp, 864 sq mt of space dedicated to personnel’s needs and 1.300 sq mt of offices.
