CONVERSION OF RUSSIAN RIVER TYPE VESSELS TO SEA-RIVER
After the change of the former Soviet Union, the new types of conversion/construction/management were taking place on the Turkish market on a grand scale. Bora concluded several agreements and increased its share in the ship construction/repair department considerably.
The first important project has the conversion and re-construction of 2 volgodon type vessels (M/V Nikolay Meshkov and M/V Vasily Tatischev) we are proud to say that the conversion work of M/V Nikolay Meshkov was first ever in its type. The originality remained on keeping dwcc same by increasing the height of bow & hatch coamings and additional steelwork on hull keeping dwt same (5192 dwt, 9600 cbm capacity). The conversion of M/V Vasily Tatischev was slightly different (another project-design, 3890 dwt 6270 cbm capacity, total value of this two project was usd 3 million).
