Our group was established in 1955 by Arif Kalkavan.

 

The company activity was enlarged by his sons, Necdet Kalkavan, Cafer Kalkavan and Cetin Kalkavan who gave initiative to the company to enter international general cargo shipping since 1980s.

 

Presently the company is known in international market as AKO Shipping Group and consists of 3 companies, Ako Shipping Co, Arkal Shipmanagement Co and CCK Shipping Co under which 8 general cargo vessels are registered total 66,115 dwt capacity, fully owned and managed by the group.

 

The company also constructed its own shipyard in Yalova. Operating area abt 50,000 m2 for the purpose of constructing vessels upto 30,000 dwt and maintenance/repair of the vessels.
